Today’s review is of the SpaRitual Meditate Spring 2013 collection. Though these days are ‘supposed’ to be the last weeks of Spring, with all the showers we have been getting in London of late, I say we have a few more weeks to go and in that time I intend on working my way through the Spring 2013 collections I have accumulated over the past few months.
SpaRitual says of their Mediatate collection:
Celebrate the awakening of spring 2013. Feel its embrace with airy pastels and gentle feminine hues. Breathe in its colors. Its textures. Its harmony. Then just…be.
The colours in the collection are:
Calm and Clear | Quietness | Introspective | Energy| Transcend | Peace and Harmony
SpaRitual Meditate Spring 2013 Collection
Calm and Clear is a very sheer dusty pink jelly. To achieve a full opaque finish, I applied three medium thick coats of the polish but the formulation worked great for me as each coat dried pretty quickly and evenly.
Quietness is a nude shade with strong yellow undertones. This polish is definitely unique and unlike any other nude shade I own. Though the creme formulation took me three medium thick coats to achieve full coverage, it levelled off nicely and left behind a super shine and flawless finish.
Introspective is a gorgeous muted jade shade filled with lots of tiny golden shimmers. After two medium thick coats, the self levelling formula left a finish that was perfectly opaque and glossy but unfortunately the shimmers didn’t translate so well unto my nails. Nevertheless, this is a perfect shade for Spring.
Energy is a muted blue jelly which in certain lights has strong green undertones. I found this formula to be very similar to Calm and Clear as it glided on very smoothly but was very sheer and took 3 medium thick coats to create this solid block of delicate colour on my nails.
Transcend is an off white shade with many ultra fine gold shimmers that while subtle, was still very much visible when the polish was applied to my nails. This was the first polish in the collection that I found to apply quite patchy and required two thin coats followed by a final thick coat to get full coverage. Again the polish levelled off nicely to create an even, flawless finish.
Peace and Harmony is a pure white shade laced with iridescent shimmers that add depth to the colour and separating it from any other white in my collection. The formula was very much similar to Transcend and didn’t apply as easy as the first four polishes. After three semi thick coats, I achieved a stunning matte shimmery finish.
